Fairmont Aged Care – Visitation Guidelines
Fairmont has in place strict visitation requirements due to the current COVID-19 pandemic. With this in mind, this document provides the current procedures we have in place. We also have added a few extra precautionary requirements, which we ask you to follow. First and foremost, please be advised that if you have not had a flu vaccination completed or received a clearance from your GP, then entry to the facility (including outdoor areas) is prohibited!
Each resident is allowed one visitation session (up to 2 people) per day.
A visitation session is limited to 30 minutes maximum.
Visitation sessions will be held either in the front garden area or in the rear garden.
You will be required to book a visitation session in advance. Sessions will be held on the hour with a fixed date and time.
Visitation sessions can be booked between 0900 to 1800 hours (9am to 6pm). We request that visitation sessions are not booked between 12 noon and 1pm as this is an extremely busy time with lunch being served. If however this timeslot is the only time that you are able to see your family member, then exceptions can be made.
Please call the RN on duty OR management to book a visitation session on (02) 9567 2279.
Nursing staff will ensure residents are brought to the confirmed visitation area at your scheduled time.
No visitors will be able to enter the home/building during visitation sessions. As stated above, visitation sessions will be limited to outdoor areas only!
All visitors will be subject to screening tests, prior to the commencement of any visitation session.
Visitors are requested to sanitise their hands before and after a visitation session. Extra sanitiser pumps have been provided for your convenience.
You will be required to practice social distancing rules (e.g. 1.5m rule) during your visitation session.
The above visitation conditions do not apply to visitation for residents on palliative care. Exemptions can also be applied in other extraordinary instances.
Screening Tests
The RN on duty will need to verify the following conditions before a visitation session:
Evidence confirming that visitors have received a current flu vaccination. This may either be a Medicare receipt, immunisation record, or a written statement from your GP/Medical Centre.
Temperature check: The RN on duty will take your temperature and any visitor/s with fever will not be able to access visitation.
Symptoms check: The RN on duty will ask you to verify that you do not have or have had any flu-like symptoms in the past 14 days.
Socialisation check: The RN on duty will ask you to verify that you have not been in contact with any person diagnosed with COVID-19 or experiencing similar symptoms.
Hand sanitisation check: Please sanitise your hands before and after the visitation session.
Please note if you are not able to provide evidence of a flu vaccination, then you will NOT be able to enter the facility. In order to ensure the residents and staff are safe, we always ask you to comply with the above requirements. If these restrictions are adhered to by all concerned, then we should be able to reduce even more of the visitation restrictions in the near future.
