PERSONALISED RESIDENT CARE

At Fairmont Aged Care residents have 24-hour access to registered nurses and care assistants. Unlike in many other residential aged care facilities, all medications are administered by qualified registered nurses and our registered nurses oversee all care. We pride ourselves on providing quality, person-centred care. Each resident has a choice of doctor and access to emergency medical treatment at all times. Consultations with specialists and other health professionals can be arranged when required.

Residents and relatives are interviewed upon admission and individualised routines are arranged to provide tailored care to ensure that the residents’ lifestyle and wishes are respected and acted upon to maintain residents’ dignity and needs.Residents’ and their relatives are encouraged to personalise their space to assist in making Fairmont Aged Care their home. Relatives and friends of residents are encouraged to visit often and participate in activities and functions at Fairmont Aged Care.

PALLIATIVE CARE

If and when required, Fairmont is able to provide personalised palliative care. Residents will not face the requirement of having to move away from Fairmont.  Our approach is all about improving the quality of life of our residents and their families, through the prevention and relief of suffering by means of assessment, identification and treatment of pain and other care related issues.

Fairmont is also here to help the family cope during our residents’ illness and in their own bereavement.  Not only can our staff assist in providing counselling, we have direct access to the support and services of external organisations, such as the Geriatric Flying Squad.

These services will enhance the quality of life and may also positively influence the course of illness and managing distressing clinical complications.
